The Detroit Lions continue to focus on improving their 28th ranked rushing offense with the selection of fullback Michael Burton in the fifth round of the draft (No. 168 overall).
The team drafted guard Laken Tomlinson in the first round and running back Ameer Abdullah in the second round, and now they've added a fullback to plow the way for Abdullah.
Burton (5-11, 242) is a good blocker and crafty receiver out of the backfield.
He wasn’t used much as a runner at Rutgers (22 career carries) but caught 47 passes for 401 yards with three touchdowns.
