Detroit Lions cut veteran DB Jamal Adams

The Detroit Lions announced on Wednesday that they have released veteran defensive back Jamal Adams from the practice squad.

The Lions signed the three-time Pro Bowl defender on December 1 to help with an injury-stricken defensive roster. Adams brought veteran experience—plus the versatility to play at the linebacker level—to help Detroit survive injuries to Alex Anzalone, Derrick Barnes, Malcolm Rodriguez, and Jalen Reeves-Maybin. Detroit would end up elevating Adams from the practice squad twice—including just five days after signing. In those two games, he tallied three tackles, helping Detroit beat the Packers on Thursday night, but the Lions lost the other game against the Buffalo Bills.
