Detroit Lions clinch 13th losing season since 2000 in loss to Rams

ST LOUIS -- The offense returned to being inept for the majority of the game. The run defense allowed St. Louis Rams running back Todd Gurley to slice through it like so many running backs in the first half of the season.

The Detroit Lions had shown some positive progress since the midseason front office shakeup, reverted to their early season form. The 21-14 loss to St. Louis on Sunday clinched another losing season in the Motor City, another year of failure.

For the 13th time since 2000, Detroit will lose at least nine games in a year.
