The Detroit Lions made a transaction on Tuesday, in a good-news, bad-news situation.
Starting with the bad news, defensive tackle Kevin Strong has been placed on injured reserve, ending his rookie season. Strong suffered a rib injury on Sunday’s contest with the Chicago Bears and did not return.
Due to increasing injuries along the defensive line, the UTSA product saw action in eight games this season, tallying five tackles along the way. Strong had an impressive training camp that earned him an unlikely spot on the 53-man roster, and that performance carried over to the regular season to a degree.
