The Detroit Lions have themselves a new option to play slot cornerback.
The Lions were awarded cornerback Lenzy Pipkins off waivers from the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday.
Pipkins started and made nine tackles in the Colts' loss to the New England Patriots last week, but was waived Tuesday to make room for the signing of safety Mike Mitchell.
The Lions have an opening in their secondary with cornerback/return man Jamal Agnew expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury.
