It’s already been a very good week for Detroit Lions cornerback Darius Slay. After being elected to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday night—and earning himself a cool $550,000 bonus in the process—the league announced on Wednesday afternoon that the Pro Bowl cornerback (I like the sound of that) has won NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
In Week 15 against the Chicago Bears, Slay picked off Mitchell Trubisky twice, the last of which sealed the victory for Detroit. Thanks to those two interceptions, Slay has now overtaken the lead in interception among all NFL players with seven.
