NEW ORLEANS — Quarterback Matthew Stafford walked gingerly through the Detroit Lions' locker room, looking as if everything was hurting. His ribs. His legs. His pride. Everything.
“The bye week, as far as my body goes, is coming at a good time,” Stafford said, after the Lions lost to New Orleans Saints, 52-38. “There’s no question about that.”
On the other side of the locker room, linebacker Jarrad Davis dressed slowly, looking frustrated. “Honestly, (I have to) look myself in the mirror and say, ‘You are either going to get better or you are gonna keep getting beat,’ ” Davis said.
