ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions are moving.
No, the Lions aren't relocating, but the team's radio broadcast will be heard in a different spot starting next season.
After nearly two decades with WXYT, first on 1270-AM and later on 97.1 FM, Lions games will be broadcast on WJR, 760-AM, starting in 2016. The station last held the broadcast rights for the team in 1988.
"We are thrilled to have the Detroit Lions back on WJR AM 760, The Great Voice of the Great Lakes," said Tom O'Brien, WJR's VP market manager. "The long history and tradition of both the Detroit Lions and WJR make this a natural partnership well into the future.
