DETROIT -- The Detroit Lions are headed back to the playoffs for the second time in three seasons and they did it without having to do anything Sunday night.
With the New York Giants' 19-10 win over Washington on Sunday afternoon, it clinched a postseason berth for Detroit. It will be the third time quarterback Matthew Stafford has made the playoffs in his career, with the team earning wild-card berths in 2011 and 2014.
Detroit lost to the New Orleans Saints in the 2011 playoffs and the Dallas Cowboys in the 2014 postseason.
