Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn came into the NFL Draft riding high. After cashing in on free agency, nabbing Trey Flower, Jesse James and Justin Coleman amongst other, Quinn was carrying a 90 percent approval rating into draft weekend—a one-year high for the Lions general manager.
However, draft weekend did not go as many fans planned and the critics were loud and angry. It was always going to be a tough sell to draft another tight end in the top 10, and Quinn’s surprising pick of Jahlani Tavai in the second round only seemed to make fans even more angry.
