ALLEN PARK -- Along with the announcement of Rod Wood as the new team president, the Detroit Lions have explained how the team will conduct its search for its next general manager.
Wood will be part of an internal advisory board, also consisting of owner Martha Firestone-Ford and the team's board of directors and vice chairmen -- Martha Ford Morse, Sheila Ford Hamp, William Clay Ford, Jr. and Elizabeth Ford Kontulis.
The team-issued release appears to dismiss the possibility of the organization hiring an outside search firm, at least at this time.
The Lions did announce they will utilize NFL provided resources, including data collected by the league's Career Development Advisory Panel.
