The Detroit Lions have agreed to terms with defensive tackle John Penisini, a sixth-round draft pick from Utah.
Penisini’s agency, DEC Management, announced the signing on Twitter. He’s the second of the Lions’ nine draft picks to agree to terms with the team. Kentucky guard Logan Stenberg, a fourth-round pick, agreed to terms Sunday.
Penisini called himself “the most slept-on" player in the draft shortly after being selected. He made 22 starts in three seasons at Utah and twice earned second-team All-Pac 12 honors. He started his college career at Snow Junior College in 2015, where he played one season before redshirting to preserve a year of eligibility for the Utes.
