The Detroit Lions announced on Thursday evening they have signed safety Erick Hallett to their practice squad. For now, Hallett occupies Detroit’s 16th and final spot on the practice squad—although they still do have a spot open on the 53-man roster.
Hallett was waived by the Jacksonville Jaguars earlier this week. He was drafted by the team in the sixth round of the 2023 draft but spent all of his rookie season on the practice squad.
At 5-foot-11, 190 pounds, Hallett has some versatility as both a safety and a nickel corner. At Pitt, he was a two-year starter but also played significant special teams in the two years prior to that.
