The Detroit Lions activated linebacker Devon Kennard off the non-football injury list before practice Wednesday.
Kennard, the team's biggest free-agent addition of the offseason, sat out the first four practices of training camp with an undisclosed injury.
"Was just working out, trying to get ready, and came in and he’s just not quite ready to go," Lions coach Matt Patricia said of Kennard's injury last week. "When he is, we’ll take him off that and get him out there and he’ll be good."
Kennard ramped up his conditioning workouts in recent days, and is expected to take part in Wednesday's practice.
