Detroit Lions: 7 players who shined in the Lone Star State

The Detroit Lions faced off against the Houston Texans in the Lone Star State on Saturday night in their second preseason contest of the year. The Lions opted to sit starting quarterback Matthew Stafford and subsequently lost their second exhibition in a row, this time to the tune of 30-23.

Despite the loss, there was plenty of things for Lions’ fans to be optimistic about. Particularly the play of some of their fringe players. With that in mind, here are seven Lions’ players who shined deep in the heart of Texas.

After recording a forgettable performance against the New England Patriots in the Lions’ preseason opener at Ford Field, backup quarterback David Fales had a bounce-back performance on the road in Houston.
