One trade, two quarterbacks, three undrafted rookies, and not much drama.
The Detroit Lions set their initial 53-man roster Saturday, and it came with few surprises.
The Lions traded cornerback Johnson Bademosi to the New England Patriots for a 2019 sixth-round draft pick, and cut linebacker Antwione Williams, who at one point appeared to be in the mix for a starting job. In turn, they rewarded bubble players Tion Green and Nick Bellore with roster spots for their strong finish to the preseason.
Green, who amassed 150 yards from scrimmage in Thursday's loss to the Buffalo Bills, made the team as a fifth running back in part because of his special-teams ability.
