The Detroit Lions 2024 training camp is on the horizon and we have returned our roster preview series to prepare you for all the end-of-summer festivities. If you’re not familiar with this series, we guide you position-by-position through the roster, examining the starting, reserve, and specialty roles, which players are in the competition for which jobs, and project how the Lions will approach each situation.
In this installment, we are focused on the quarterback position, speculating current and future roles, as well as how many of the reserves make the 53-man roster.
Setting the table
One of the biggest moves of the Lions' offseason was signing starting quarterback Jared Goff to a massive contract extension through, at least, the 2027 season with a team option to keep him in Detroit through 2028.
