DeShawn Shead eats up Lions' CB reps in first game back from injury

DETROIT -- After opening training camp as the Lions starting cornerback opposite Darius Slay, DeShawn Shead didn't seem like a guy who would be playing the majority of the team's final preseason game.

The road back from a major injury can be that complicated sometimes. At times, it can mean suffering a new one and needing to get back again.

That's ultimately what happened with Shead and why he played the first preseason game against the Raiders and then not again until Thursday night's preseason finale against the Browns. He suffered a leg injury in that preseason opener, and it took away two weeks of the critical reps to compete against Teez Tabor and Nevin Lawson for that No.
