Ziggy Ansah finished last season with 14.5 sacks, just a half sack shy of the Detroit Lions team record of 15.0 set by Robert Porcher. Ansah made his first Pro Bowl and was named second-team All-Pro for his efforts.
It’s safe to say expectations are high for one of the best young pass rushers in the game today, and that goes for the expectations Lions coaches have for their fourth-year defensive end.
Defensive line coach Kris Kocurek put the number of sacks Ansah should hit this year at 20, according to defensive coordinator Teryl Austin.
“If you ask Kris (Kocurek), it’s 20 sacks,” Austin said Thursday after Detroit’s open OTA session.
