ALLEN PARK -- Darnell Sankey has been waiting for a splash play, something to stand out as the kid from Sacramento State trying to make the roster, when he lined up late in the first scrimmage of camp and Teez Tabor tipped a Matt Cassel pick up and into his arm.
The third-year linebacker took off down the sideline. Only rookie running back Kerryon Johnson had the kind of pursuit angle to have a chance at him, but Sankey just kept running for more than 50 yards until he had the score.
Sankey is entering his third season after already spending time with the Broncos, Raiders, Ravens, Vikings and Chiefs.
