ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Darius Slay sat in the meeting room Monday when the rest of the Detroit Lions' defensive backs gave him a message.
They told Slay it was OK if he knocks balls down instead of always trying to intercept them.
“He’s been going for the interception and we said, 'Hey, some plays you’re just going to have to bat down. You’re not going to be able to intercept everything,'” safety James Ihedigbo said. “That’s really his mindset and it’s good.
“It’s good to be ball hungry and go after the ball and want to intercept every pass and that really was his mindset going in.
