Country's No. 1 punt returner, Tyler Lockett of Kansas State, takes pre-draft visit to Detroit Lions

New special teams coach Joe Marciano hinted that the Detroit Lions were opening up their return jobs for serious competition.

He wasn't kidding.

The Lions have hosted some of the country's most promising return men during the draft process, including the No. 1 kick returner in UAB's J.J. Nelson. And now they've hosted the No. 1 punt returner in Kansas State's Tyler Lockett.

Lockett, a second- or third-round prospect, was in town Wednesday for a pre-draft visit to the Lions' Allen Park practice facility.

He stands just 5-foot-10 and 182 pounds, but proved to be dynamic on special teams last season for the Wildcats.
