The Detroit Lions need a backup quarterback, and one of the most intriguing options in the NFL is reportedly being released today.
But don't expect the Lions to land the services of - or even be in the hunt for - Robert Griffin III.
The second overall pick in the 2012 draft, Griffin's career has been in a freefall since he tore his ACL while leading Washington to the playoffs as a rookie.
Griffin threw for 3,200 yards and 20 touchdowns with just five interceptions that year, but has made just 20 starts in the three seasons since and did not take a snap this year after losing the quarterback job to Kirk Cousins.
