ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Cornelius Washington found out, much like everyone else did, that he was going to be inactive for the Oct. 15 game against the New Orleans Saints minutes before it was announced to the rest of the world.
He was stunned.
"I got that news a few minutes before we had to go out," Washington said Monday. "I assumed it was very last minute. I don't know any more than that."
Washington said he had no indication he would be inactive against the Saints during the week and said he didn't ask the Detroit Lions coaching staff afterward for an explanation why he was inactive.
