MOUNT PLEASANT, MI -- Central Michigan University's marching band will play for the Detroit Lions for the first time since the late-1980s or early-1990s this fall.
The band will perform Monday, Sept. 10, at Ford Field as guests of the Lions when they play the New York Jets, according to a CMU news release.
Over the past 16 years, the Marching Chips have accompanied the CMU football team to multiple Mid-American Conference championship and bowl games at Ford Field, but the band's Sept. 10 performance will be its first time playing there as a guest of the NFL team, the release states.
