Detroit Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson is coming back—and coming back soon—but according to coach Dan Campbell, he isn’t likely to play this week against the Minnesota Vikings.
“He looks fresh, obviously. He’s moving around pretty good,” Campbell said. “So it’s really just about, we just need to get him more practices to make sure he’s ready to go, he's comfortable. We just don’t throw him out there to the wolves. I don’t necessarily see him going this week, but he’s good.”
Gardner-Johnson is just three months removed from tearing a pectoral muscle in the Lions’ Week 2 game against the Seattle Seahawks.
