ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Calvin Johnson likely won’t have a say in the process, but if he had a vote in whether or not to retain Detroit Lions head coach Jim Caldwell, the star wide receiver would like to see him remain for a third season with the club.
“Love him,” Johnson said. “Everybody in the locker room would probably say the same thing. He commands respect but he doesn’t have to do much. It’s just his character. Guys gravitate towards [him]. Easily one of my favorite coaches I’ve had come through.”
Caldwell’s tenure with the Lions beyond 2015 has been in question since the midpoint of the 2015 season.
