Caldwell takes blame for special teams issues

Having 11 players on the field is one of the most fundamental elements of football, but it's an area the Detroit Lions somehow have struggled with on special teams in recent weeks.

The Lions had two more personnel issues in the kicking game in last week's loss to the Green Bay Packers. They had just 10 men on the field for a second-quarter punt and were forced to burn a time-out in the fourth quarter when Manny Ramirez was late running on for a field goal.

"That's my job to get that straightened out," Lions coach Jim Caldwell said.
