Jim Caldwell has drawn criticism for his stoic sideline demeanor and for not arguing calls vociferously enough on behalf of his team (see: the noncall of the batting penalty in Seattle last year).
But Caldwell might have given the Detroit Lions just enough life for their fifth comeback of the season when he apparently successfully argued to have two seconds put back on the clock late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 22-16 overtime win over the Minnesota Vikings.
The Lions took their final time-out of regulation after Minnesota converted a fourth-and-4 with just more than a minute to play.
