When the Detroit Lions return from their bye, they'll face the demanding task of playing 12 games in as many weeks, with at least two of those, and possibly three, on short rest.

That schedule could present a unique challenge for quarterback Matthew Stafford, who played through an unspecified hip injury in Sunday's 34-30 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
