On Tuesday, the NFL announced they would , including two of the Detroit Lions' three contests.
Traditionally, a local Detroit television affiliate would broadcast all three of the Lions preseason games. Then, NFL Network would broadcast a replay of the game later on in the week, so those not in the Detroit market could have access to the game.
This preseason, those outside of the local Detroit market are in luck. Not only are the local affiliates still expected to carry all three Lions matchups, but games against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2 and Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3 will also be broadcast nationally.
