Anquan Boldin made an eye-popping NFL debut 13 years ago against the Detroit Lions.
He caught 10 passes for 217 yards, scored two touchdowns and outdueled a Lions rookie wideout named Charles Rogers in what few knew was a prelude of things to come.
In the decade-plus since, Boldin has gone on to have a borderline Hall-of-Fame career.
He won a Super Bowl, made three Pro Bowls and has more catches than any active player not named Larry Fitzgerald or Jason Witten.
The Lions agreed to a reported one-year contract with Boldin today in a low-risk move they need to ensure doesn't have unintended consequences.
