What’s old is new again in Detroit, as the Lions are bringing cornerback Bill Bentley back to the team per media reports on Tuesday night. The 2012 third-round pick was a street free agent after the Lions cut him following an injury-plagued tenure.
Bentley was the first of the three corners former GM Martin Mayhew selected in that 2012 draft in an attempt to restock a barren cupboard. And before he got hurt, Bentley looked like a keeper. Unfortunately, injuries really took their toll.
The talkative Louisiana-Lafayette product hurt his shoulder as a rookie and appeared in just four games.
