Bill Belichick on Detroit Lions offense: 'Well-coached,' 'hard to stop'

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick isn’t known for speaking effusively about most topics. But he couldn’t help himself Wednesday, when he unleashed a tsunami of praise for the Lions’ offense.

Belichick called the offense — ranked 11th overall and tied for 18th in scoring — “great,” “well-coached” and “explosive.” He said Lions offensive players are “outstanding” and “tremendous.” He called the offensive line “excellent.”

During a 15-minute conference all with Detroit reporters, Belichick mostly held true to form and offered his famously understated comments on most topics.
