You may remember in the aftermath of Detroit Lions offensive coordinator announcing his return to the team—when many viewed him as the lead candidate for the Washington Commanders head coach position—Johnson’s name was dragged through the mud quite a bit.
It actually started well before that when reports emerged in December that Johnson was looking for upwards of $15 million a year if hired as head coach, which his agent publicly refuted.
