ALLEN PARK -- The Detroit Lions are cutting tight end Hakeem Valles on Saturday, according to a source, freeing up a roster spot that could be used on their banged-up secondary.
Quandre Diggs (fractured hand), Tracy Walker (ankle), Tavon Wilson (back) and Nevin Lawson (illness) are all listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers. Who, as of this writing, still had Aaron Rodgers at quarterback.
Not a great week to be short handed on defense, and the Lions are now in position to add a body there if they would like.
Valles has been a long-term project for the Lions, joining the team's practice squad last year.
