Ameer Abdullah helping host Flint water drive event this Saturday

Last week, Michigan governor Rick Snyder announced that the state would be ending its free bottled water program for the residents of Flint. It has been four years since the people of Flint have dealt with dangerous levels of lead in their tap water, caused by old, corrosive pipes.

The state started this program two years ago, which offered free bottled water for any Flint residents at designated pickup locations. But now, according to Snyder, the Flint tap water is “well within the standards” in terms of the federal limit of water quality. Therefore, the program will be done once the current supply of bottled water runs out.
