Aidan Hutchinson was the early frontrunner for 2024 Defensive Player of the Year honors, when a brutal injury in Week 6 ended ended his season—even though there are some reports he could return for the Super Bowl. Hutchinson suffered a fractured tibia and fibula, had successful surgery in Dallas, and returned home the following day.
“Surgery went great, which is all good news,” Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell updated the media on Monday. “I kind of mentioned this yesterday, but man, Hutch is a captain for us, a highly productive player, great teammate, does everything right, and was having one hell of a game, one hell of a season.
