The Lions’ national search for a new general manager resulted in just three interviews before the hiring of Bob Quinn, but the process was similar to other searches led by Ernie Accorsi, the former NFL GM the team hires as its consultant.
Quinn, the former director of pro scouting for the New England Patriots, agreed in principle to be the Lions GM, the team announced Friday night.
Before hiring Quinn, the Lions also interviewed Sheldon White, the longtime Lions personnel man who served as interim GM the past two months, and Kevin Abrams, the assistant GM for the New York Giants.
