Tom Kennedy knew he was going to be in camp somewhere last weekend, he just didn’t know he was going to be playing football – or with the Detroit Lions.
Kennedy signed a contract with the Lions after a rookie camp tryout Sunday, about the same time that his Boston Cannons professional lacrosse team was wrapping up its first weekend of training camp for the upcoming season.
A third-round draft pick by the Cannons last spring, Kennedy played six games for the team before leaving Major League Lacrosse in July to resume his football career.
