Training camp is less than two weeks away and so begins the pursuits of fringe players trying to fulfill a lifelong dream of making an NFL roster.
It’ll be a tough roster to crack with 18 returning starters, a couple key free agent acquisitions, a number of solid reserves and a full crop of draft picks all vying for 53 spots.
Tackle Cornelius Lucas and safety Jerome Couplin (now with Philadelphia) joined tight end Joseph Fauria and tackle LaAdrian Waddle as undrafted players in the last two seasons to make the 53-man roster out of camp. Teams always find room for undrafted players or sleepers who perform in training camp and the preseason.
