Matthew Stafford is playing close to MVP-caliber football through eight games, and his entire wide receiving corps is a big reason why.
Beyond that, the Detroit Lions have largely been a disappointment this year. Oh, there have been bright spots. Damon Harrison played his best game of the season last week against the Oakland Raiders. T.J. Hockenson had a record-setting debut. And Devon Kennard opened the season with a three-sack game, playing well off Mike Daniels.
But the Lions need more in the second half of the season – more to contend for a playoff spot (as far-fetched as that might seem right now) and more to give hope that 2020 might finally be the year.
