Earlier in the NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions doubled up on guard. Now, they’ve doubled up at the running back position.
With the 172 overall pick, the Lions have selected New Mexico State running back Jason Huntley. Earlier in the draft, the Lions used their 35th overall pick on Georgia running back D’Andre Swift.
Huntley is a small back—5-foot-8, 182 pounds—who’s immediate impact may be as a contender for a returner role on the team. Though the Lions likely like who they have in Jama Agnew, Huntley was the FBS leader in kick return touchdowns in 2018 (3) and has five in his career.
