ALLEN PARK -- Two of the Detroit Lions' most respected veterans are headed to the nation's capitol for a meeting on police brutality and race issues.
Receiver Anquan Boldin is the mastermind of the trip to Washington DC, according to this ESPN story, and is bringing along teammate Glover Quin. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins and Browns quarterback Josh McCown and receiver Andrew Hawkins will complete the five-man caravan.
The players are expected to meet with several members of congress, and possibly speaker Paul Ryan, according to the report.
Boldin told ESPN he organized the trip because there's a "huge mistrust" between police and the African-American community.
