In tonight's edition of Lions news, the Detroit Lions have just announced the signing of two attendees of this week's voluntary workouts -- center Sherman Carter and wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt.
According to Mike Wilkening of Pro Football Talk (by way of information obtained from Tim Twentyman of DetroitLions.com), both Carter and Roosevelt tried out for the team during this week's workouts, securing contracts in the process.
Per Wilkening, "the 26-year-old Roosevelt appeared in 16 regular season games for Buffalo from 2010 through 2011, hauling in 25 passes for 396 yards and a touchdown. He spent the 2013 preseason with the Browns, appearing in two games. The Browns waived him on August 31."
Sherman Carter on the other hand was signed by the San Francisco 49ers last May as an undrafted free agent out of Tennessee State, before being waived on August 2nd.
There is no word yet on if Carter and Roosevelt have a legitimate shot to catch on in training camp, or if they are being signed just for practice purposes.
