Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson returned to the practice field on Friday morning, but his status remains questionable for the team's matchup against the New York Jets on Sunday.
In the words of Lions Insider's Tim Twentyman, Johnson injured an ankle in last week’s 19-7 win over Green Bay and sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday. The fact that he was able to practice in a limited fashion on Friday is a good sign he’s trending toward playing on Sunday.'
QB Matthew Stafford sure was happy to see his partner-in-crime back on the field.
"It was good to see him moving around a little bit,” Stafford said on Friday, via Twentyman's article.
Johnson leads the Lions in catches (19) and receiving yards (329), and has two touchdowns so far in the early-going of 2014.
