Sloppy play costs DePaul in loss to Stanford Cardinal

DePaul’s sloppy play cost them a winnable game against the Stanford Cardinals.

Stanford came out red-hot, hitting their first four shots on the way to a quick 11-6 lead. Junior Marcus Allen was a one-man unit, scoring 11 of Stanford’s first 13 points. Still, DePaul shot early and often from beyond the arc, keeping them in the game trailing only 21-15 at the first media timeout.

DePaul’s Achilles heel against Little Rock reared its ugly head again tonight: turnovers. Stanford bullied DePaul into coughing up the ball, leading to a 15-4 points off of turnovers advantage in the first half.
