NEW YORK – DePaul men’s basketball’s season came to an end on Wednesday night as they fell 70-53 to the Georgetown Hoyas in the first round of the 2016 Big East tournament. The Hoyas (15-17) moved on to play top-seeded Villanova Thursday at noon.
The Blue Demons (9-22) started to fall behind from the very start as they quickly found themselves down 16-8 at the under-12 media timeout. The two teams would go on separate runs, sometimes with the Blue Demons getting as close as four points, but the Hoyas would always find that separation once again. Georgetown had a final say in the first half as they went up by 11 at the break.
