Will Barton’s career-high, Nikola Jokic’s fifth triple-double leads Nuggets past Clippers

DENVER — Behind Nikola Jokic‘s squeaky clean triple-double, his fifth of the year and the most a center has registered in a single season since David Robinson in 1986-86, the Nuggets pulled away from the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers and eased to a 129-114 victory.

This triple-double from the rising second-year center, a 17-point, 14-rebound, 11-assist effort, stood out for a different reason than his previous four. Jokic recorded this one in just 22 minutes.

Without Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler, who are both battling injuries, Will Barton made sure to also step up when the Nuggets needed him most.
