Which NBA players played for the most number of franchises?

Guard Luke Ridnour made news Tuesday when he was traded for the fourth time in less than a week. The now-Toronto Raptor (as of 12:42 p.m.) has been a part of eight different NBA franchises.

It’s a pretty amazing feat, but he still has a ways before sniffing at the record. According to basketball-reference.com, four different players have played for 12 NBA franchises over the course of their careers. This includes one-time Nuggets forward Joe Smith, who spent two months (and a total of 11 games) in Denver during the 2006-07 season.

Little known fact: Smith was traded by Cleveland as part of a three-team trade that included — you guessed it — Luke Ridnour.
